There's a rumor going around that Lo put up a blog about our experience in the Studio the other day...but I have to admit...I'm a bad band member and did not read it. Between being in the Studio all weekend, and trying to squeeze in a little 360 in between sessions......oh, and don't forget the drinking...I haven't been on the MySpace in a few days...so I'm writing this a little "blind". I apologize if I repeat or rehash anything that was already said. Actually, I don't apologize...I really don't care if I repeat myself, I was just trying to be polite...but you all know that I'm not....so suck it!
Seriously, though, day 2 in the studio went extremely well. I want to publicly give a shout out to the newest member of SD, Eddie Foltz!!! Big ups to Ed, who has been working his ASS off on these tunes, in prep for this past weekend. He went in and totally nailed it!! I'm not going to say that everything was silky smooth (because there are always snags in the studio...as I'm coming to learn ), but Ed laid out all the drums tracks and they already sound awesome! Now, we just need to wait for Chuck to do his producer/engineer/studio genius thang and then.....it's MY TURN!! I'm really psyched to be cutting the tracks for this album because I think they're all going to be really great. I'm very happy with the direction the songwriting has been going and from a bass player's perspective, I get to play a lot meatier basslines than I did on GOTM. Don't get me wrong, I still love the tunes on Gears (I wouldn't have joined the band if I didn't), but it's a completely different entity. This new shit is a lot more my style, and we've been getting great reactions when we play it out live so hopefully the rest of you out there will agree with me.
Anyway...enough of my babbling. We had a camera in the studio and we took a couple of candids, so we could give you guys a little behind-the-scenes taste. Hope you enjoy!
